:O Me Posting!
Don’t y’all have nose bleeds at once, you hear! Maybe I shall try to blog much more frequently from now on.
Last week I went to see The Passion Of Christ, and it was almost like we weren’t supposed to see the film. First when the trailers were showing before the film, we could see flashlights at the bottom aisle, and I was wondering what was going on. Then, all the main lights went on and the trailer that was playing (the one for that new film starring Tom Hanks) stopped. We were then told by some staff member that there was a small problem: it turned out (afaik) that some old woman got stuck in their seat, so they had to take it apart!! That delayed the film by 20mins or so, but that wasnt the end of it. Right in the middle of a crucial part of the film (I’m not giving anything away by saying this, so at the whipping scene), the film stops. Were then told that there’s a fire alarm going off, so please make your way to the nearest exit. Half an hour later or so after the fire brigade have checked it out (turned out to be a false alarm), we’re allowed back in. We got free tickets anyway for any film, anytime and any Warner Bros. cinemas, so it aint that bad.
As far as the film went though, I dont see what all the fuss was about. It seemed pretty accurate to whats in the Bible, and didn’t seem anti-semitic (anti-Jewish I am reliably informed) at all to me. It also wasn’t as gruesome as i’d thought it might be.. no more than the odd episode of ER really. And personally I think it depicts what happened (if you believe in all that stuff), kinda well. In school you’re taught about this with the crown made of thorns etc. and its like a fairytale. This film actually shows the reality of the situation. I was impressed. Though for some reason it didn’t seem much like a film to me. It was more like a documentary or something. Maybe it’s just me..
On a side note, I need to get into the habit of only leaving one space after a full stop (or period depending which side of the pond you come from). I’ve got into the habit of leaving two spaces, but after watching this sort clip, i’ve been convinced to try and get out of it. Here’s trying.
